reclaim your wonder.

Childlike Wonder

Childlike Wonder

Like a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles on a hot summer day, there are certain things in life that arouse the childlike wonder in us all. Sometimes all it takes is a shiny balloon in your favorite color, a kaleidoscope kite flight, or a belly tickle ride on a swing.

A balloon.

All it takes is a balloon.  Red, blue, orange… perhaps pink is your color.  A floating mystery encased in vivid countenance.  Tethered, true and true, we are best friends to the end, even if just for a moment.  A faithful companion – don’t let go!

A Kite.

All it takes is a Kite.  I am commander of my own private airship of an early flight on sun burnt sky. Higher and higher it soars as the string spools out with the steady prevailing winds.  The kite’s colors beckoning to all who observe, there’s room for more, come join me, lets fly together.

A swing.

All it takes is a Swing.  Getting on is like a portal into another dimension. I can sit quietly, swaying side to side with toes barely touching the ground, quietly reflecting my thoughts.  I can drift into the clouds or into a newfound land. A swing’s an adventure! Time is converted into imagination as I’m thrust into another world.

A swing, a balloon, a kite, an ice cream cone, just a few reminders of the joy, delight and freedom of

childhood.  Reclaim yours today.

John C Brown, husband, father, artist, revealer of wonder inspires us to connect with our soul and our Creator.  His paintings evoke emotions for self-reflection and encourage us to revisit the playfulness of our childhood that is often lost as we move into adulthood. As we get immersed in his art, we find ourselves reflecting on those times when there were no barriers to our dreams, our questions or our imaginations. John’s hope is that his art touches your soul and opens a dialog of nostalgia, childhood, relationships, and God.
